Introducing Smart Search — Find What You Need, Faster.

You might wonder why we didn’t implement this feature sooner, given user demand. At Prepbook, we aim to make the Reading & Revision process efficient & effortless. Simply adding a search bar wouldn’t necessarily achieve this. So, we took a deep dive into user reviews to identify an “extra element” that would truly enhance the search experience.
We analyzed over 30+ Google Play Store reviews requesting a search bar feature. We wanted to find out what this “extra element” could be to maximize user benefit.
Our analysis led to two key insights:
- Users are unlikely to search for entire article titles or specific topics unless they already know what they want to read about.
- There’s a high chance that users won’t get the desired results from keyword searches alone, as many articles include the same keywords
Introducing the “Extra Element” in Prepbook’s Smart Search: Search by Date
This functionality complements existing search options like title and description.
Why is date search so valuable for UPSC prep? When it comes to current affairs, aspirants need to cover information chronologically, day by day, rather than by topic. Prepbook’s Smart Search, with its “extra element” of date search, empowers you to do just that.
